Wreck this Journal # 1 | erinhunter117

Hello lovely blog people,

Today I am going to be talking about my first day writing/drawing in my wreck this journal. As most of you will know from my instagram (@erinhunter117) and last blog post I purchased a 'wreck this journal'. It arrived on Tuesday (thanks to amazon prime) but I didn't want to start it until the weekend.

I know that completing it is going to be a long process for me as sometimes I can be a perfectionist and I don't want to rush it! I will do a completed video when its finished . Yesterday I didn't complete much but I am going to be showing you how I decorated the front page and also how I have done my page numbers so far!

This is the wreck it journal, here is a description of what it is about:

For anyone who's ever wished to, but had trouble starting, keeping, or finishing a journal or sketchbook comes Wreck This Journal, an illustrated book featuring a subversive collection of suggestions, asking readers to muster up their best mistake - and mess-making abilities to fill the pages of the book (and destroy them). There are instructions on each page telling you to poke holes through pages, adding photos and defacing them, painting with coffee, colouring outside the lines, and more!

My Journal so far...

So having started my 'wreck this journal' I have already found myself making a mess! But that honestly doesnt matter because you can clean up afterwards

I haven't actually started to complete any of the instructions yet I just decided to decorate the first page. The wreck this journal has no rules it is all down to how you want it to look and your style. I am for sure going to be adding more colour to this first page and filling the blank one in  besides it but this is it so far...
Here I just drew spikes around the title and also a bomb leading out of them. This idea was stolen off the internet so yes I know I am copying but I made it more of my style by colouring in the letters and adding a cartoon drawing of Mickey Mouse.
I would recommend finding page ideas on Google images if you are stuck for inspiration because they really help!

I also drew a line through the words 'To create is to destroy' -
this was just a personal touch I incorporated.

Here is a close up of the Mickey Mouse drawing - I just found a cartoon on the internet and drew it!
Remember you can draw/stick/glue/write/print whatever you want in your journal it is all about your creativity!

By the 'Penguin Books' I drew the penguin logo for the company because why not?!?!

You can also theme some of your pages I have seen some people do 'Harry Potter' pages etc...

So for the page numbers I opted for a bordering technique.

Although this was a brave decision (I have to do the numbers on every page) I am happy I have
decided to present them this way.

It is going to be a long, long process but hopefully it will be worth it!

If you want to achieve the same effect as me this is what I used:
(obviously you can use different materials for example coloured card and so on but these are the ones I used...)

I used the grey duck tape as the backdrop and then I printed off some numbers.
I cut the numbers up and placed them on top of the duck tape on each page.
Then I used clear sellotape to stick this all down.
If you want to do this I would recommend using two different types of scissors because the duck tape
is sticky and if you use the same scissors on the paper it may rip it.

♡ I hope you all enjoyed my 'wreck this journal' so far!
I know I haven't done much yet and its not that interesting but I worked hard on this blog post
and the photos so comment down below what you thought

Update: Where have I been!? + My Sunday | Erinhunter117

Hi Everyone!

☆ Sorry for being so inactive on here recently! I have sadly been neglecting my blog for my bed, my iPhone, watching YouTube till 2am in the morning and food! But lets just forget that and I promise that I am back now :) I am hoping to post at least once every two weeks, I know to some of you this may not seem that often, but I want my photos to be high quality and my posts too. I have already started planning out some ideas! I am trying to get myself organised at the moment with school and exams, it is hard to keep up with everything but at least I have a two week Easter break soon and I expect that will result in a lot of shopping!

☆ So whilst I have been away I made a YouTube channel. If you haven't checked it out don't forget to after reading this post (the link will be at the end). So far I have uploaded an introduction video, a March favourites and a 4 everyday hairstyles video. So be sure to go and watch those!

☆ I don't really have much else to say in this post so I'm deciding to give you an insight into my VERY interesting Sunday!

☆ Today hasn't been too much of an eventful day to be honest. I woke up and did the usual getting ready, my brother came down from London on Friday so he was here and that was nice to have him around. After lunch I went swimming with my brother and sister which was fun (I geuss!) Then I have been doing homework, listening to soundtracks of musicals and hanging out with my family.

☆ I also ordered 'The Fault in Our Stars' (FINNALY!), I feel like everyone in this world has read it except me. I also ordered the book 'Divergent' as the movie has just come out and I have heard so many people raving about it that I had to get the book as I prefer reading books before seeing movies (is anyone else like that?!). And the final item I checked out in my amazon cart was 'Wreck this Journal', it just seemed like such a cool thing to have and once again I am late on this trend but I don't care! They look like so much fun and I cannot wait to start filling mine in. When I have completed it in like a years time I will do a whole video on my pages and it will be like a little montage! I love the idea of destroying a piece of your own work and personalising it to be your own, I think that it is really creative so I am so excited to use it. I have also decided to never use the library again! It is just way easier buying books to be honest as for me book borrowing from the library results in massive fines. Talking about fines at the moment I actually have quite a big one due (my mum will help me out there!).  I might as well buy the books in the first place because I never seem to get them back by there due date even though the building is a 2 minute walk down the road!

☆ Also I have plaited my sisters hair so that it goes all curly in the morning and she wanted to show you it :)

☆ So I know the photo isn't the best quality but she wanted to show everyone so ahaha yeah!

☆ Also She was desperate to show you our frogs and princesses game (noughts and crosses)!

♡ We are currently at a 1-1 tie and our final game decides the winner so I have to go now but I hope at least one person enjoyed this little random post and goodbye until the next one!

Welcome to My Blog! | Erinhunter117

Hey Everyone,
Welcome to my blog!
If your reading this you probably most likely found me from Instagram.
If not go follow my themed account @erinhunter117 and my backup @erinhunter117pics

Why I wanted to start a blog
For a long time now I have wanted to start a Blog or a YouTube channel that I can be consistent with uploading on. I have decided to begin this blog because I wanted a hobby to do in my spare time but I also think that a blog would be a really cool way to communicate with other people and it looked like a bunch of fun. I love writing and photography and the two ideas mixed together with beauty and fashion. Maybe in the future I will feel confident enough to set up a beauty themed YouTube channel, however for now I am happy with starting a blog.

Blog Ideas
So far I have had the following ideas for my blog but if you have any suggestions please let me know on Instagram or in the comments below:
- Reviews
- OOTD's
- Fashion Hauls
- Makeup Hauls
- Monthly Favorites
- Weekly Updates on my life ( If anyone is interested!)
- Collabs with other Bloggers (For example, tags like 'the common white girl tag' )
- Skincare Routine
- Makeup Collection
- Hair care routine
- Hair tutorials

Uploading Schedule
I am not going to have an uploading schedule as I will upload when I want to and when I have something to post about. Also I would like to take the time and effort to make my posts as good as I can and I feel that if I had to continuously upload every Wednesday it would become a chore and not a hobby. My overall aim when uploading is to have a post up once a week or maybe every two weeks, I am going to see how it goes and whether people enjoy the content I am uploading or not.

Note
★ I just want everyone to note that by making this blog I am not trying to brag in any way shape or form when I show items, if it offends you then don't read my blog.
★ I also want to say that I do not wear makeup to school unless I am having a really bad skin day or I feel like making an effort and if I am going somewhere after school - this is purely because I am one of the laziest people you will ever meet! I just wanted to say that in case people began to think I wore a lot of makeup on a daily basis. If I do wear it to school it will be natural whereas on the weekend I tend to go for bolder eye looks.

I will leave you with this picture which I found on Google Images, "Big things often have small beginnings", I hope this will come true.
